William "Bill" Ross

Please keep the family of William L. “Bill” Ross in your thoughts and prayers. Bill was 89 years of age, a life-long resident of Hazelwood and entered into rest July 5, 2023. He was born May 17, 1934 to the late Albert Ross and Helen Katona Ross. He is survived by his beloved wife Roberta Sweeney Ross. They were married April 9, 1957. He will surely be missed by his loving family: his daughter Kathleen Ross McCormick, grandson Patrick R. Vereb, Jr., Samantha and children Mallory, Jack, and Dominic; his granddaughter Angela Marie Vereb Fowler, Matthew and children Isabella and Matthew, Jr.; his grandson Alexander McCormick and his wife Sarah; His son William Joseph Ross, Nancy and grandchildren Ramona, Gabriella, and Marc. Bill is predeceased by his brother, Albert Ross. Bill was a member of St. Stephen Church, a US Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of Fort Black Post 538, The American Legion; Retired from LTV in 1994 and coached the Hazelwood Bucs a Little League Team.

Arrangements by Vereb Funeral Home, Inc. (formerly O’Connor’s), 5106 Second Avenue, 15207, 412-521-8116 . Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 from Noon until the time of the Blessing Service at 2:00 o’clock. A reception to continue with his Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Spartan Center, (formerly St. Stephen School Hall) Burial to take place at the Natio nal Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
