Please keep the family and friends of Rita M. Liddle in your hearts and minds. Mrs. Liddle, a lifelong resident of Hazelwood, was 87. She passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. Rita was born May 1, 1930, in Pittsburgh. Beloved wife of the late William R. Liddle. Devoted daughter of the late Anthony and Nancy Sgro. Loving mother of Nancy (Fred) Petrovich, of Greensburg, Susan (Stan) Sorochman, of Endicott N.Y., and William (Diane) Liddle of Pittsburgh. Cherished grandmother to Richard (Angela) Verbanick, Carrie (Anthony) Noll, Cameron (Kati-Ellen) Sorochman, Stephanie Sutter, Mackenzie Sutter, and Andrew Liddle. Adoring great-grandmother to Jacob and Lucas Verbanick. She was predeceased in death by her brother, John Sgro.
Rita retired from the City of Pittsburgh as a school crossing guard. She loved the Hazelwood community. She was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Stephen Parish where she loved to sing in the choir.
Friends received at the John D. O’Connor and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Patrick Vereb, F.D., 5106 Second Avenue, 15207, 412-521-8116 on Monday morning at 8 am before the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen Parish Church at 10 AM.
The family wishes to extend immense gratitude for the countless acts of kindness and compassionate care given by the entire staff at John J. Kane Regional Center, Glen-Hazel.
