Age 90 of Greenfield, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
The only child of James and Mary (Dolan) Hanley who immigrated from Ireland.
He was married to the love of his life Nora (Mellett) Hanley for many years .
He was the proud father of seven children: James (Janine), Patrick (Susan), Thomas, Judith, Dennis (Sally), and the late Kathleen and John, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Jim was an Army World War II Veteran, City of PIttsburgh Firefighter, and a long time District Justice. Most importantly, Jim was a loving, caring father, who imparted a strong Catholic Faith and appreciation of his Irish Heritage. Jim was the Broker Owner of the Hanley Agency/Hazelwood Realty Company for over sixty years, founding member of the Irish Center of Pittsburgh, and long time Parishioner of St. Philomena Parish.
Friends are welcome Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the John D O'Connor & Son Funeral Home, 5106 2nd Ave., Hazelwood, 15207. Patrick Vereb, Supvr.,
Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Saturday, St Rosalia Church. In Lieu of flowers, donations made to Little Sisters of the Poor 1028 Benton Avenue, Pitt, Pa 15212.
