Please keep the family and friends of James Clifford Walsh in your thoughts and prayers. On November 23, 2022, the heavens gained their very own disc jockey… James Clifford Walsh, music man to all. He made his peaceful transition from this life on earth in the comfort of his home that was overflowing with the love of so many people whose lives he touched. Every one of us just as blessed to have felt him giving that love right back to us. He sang and made us laugh until his words turned into his last breaths. Hands were on his heart when it danced its last beat as his family showered him with hugs and kisses and farewell wishes.
Jim was born on September 7th, 1945 in Newport, RI, where he still has extended family. Pittsburgh, PA became his life long home during childhood. His life from there included so many great experiences and so much love and passion. His joyful spirit reached people far and wide through his social work, community outreach, life saving instruction and mental health rehab, including his “work baby”, The Invisible Village Theater.
He traveled the world after enlisting in the US Navy when he was 19, where he served in radio operations during the Vietnam War. Jim was a self proclaimed humanist who had a love for telling stories, literature, great television and film, laughing and making others laugh, and was one of the world’s biggest fans of music. He was always singing and dancing and was especially known for his music mixes that he so often shared with everyone around him. Writing was also one of Jim’s passions, however his constant search for the perfect words meant that most of his writing was left incomplete.
One of Jim’s most fulfilling experiences was The Great Peace March for Global Nuclear Disarmament, a 9 month cross country walk in the mid 1980s. One of his core tenets was always peace, so it was only natural that he would gravitate towards this cause.
He had children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, past loves, two mothers to his children, a wife/life partner of 25 years (his “Best Girl”), who loved him intensely, and so many wonderful and meaningful friendships… some of which lasted nearly as long as his life. An overwhelming number of these people came to spend time with him during his last days.
Jim had been battling an array of health issues for a few years. After his most recent set back, he made the decision to leave the hospital to be at home where he could share his love with friends and family.

Keep it real!”

And now we’re going to wrap up this dedication to Jim’s life the same way he wrapped up all of his writing, because we can’t quite find the…
