German Basil Vedentiev

September 30, 1958 — April 8, 2021

Please keep the family and friends of German Vedentiev in your thoughts and prayers.  German was 62 years old, lived in Hazelwood and passed away April 8, 2021. German was born on September 30, 1958 in Russia (Leningrad). Graduating from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts as a producer, he later took part in staging the Moscow Olympic Games. Then he continued as an actor in two movies: “Racket” and “Executioner” and thus provided for his eternal memory. Being a very gifted and able person, he learned the art of playing the piano, the guitar and the violin. In this capacity he sometimes performed for the Russian community both in Pittsburgh and in Paris (France). He was a true life of the party, entertaining friends with singing and accompanying himself on the guitar. Friends and family getting together were always talking about this personality with a smile and genuine love. Many friends reached out for him as a connoisseur of arts and antiques before making an important purchase. Playing chess was another forte of his multi-talented personality. As a member of the University of Pittsburgh Chess Club, he got a few victories for the Club. He was a war veteran engaged in the Soviet Army troops in Afghanistan as a tank operator. German will always be remembered not only by family members, but also a lot of people in Pittsburgh.Friends received at the John D. O’Connor and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5106 Second Avenue, 15207, 412-521-8116  Friday, April 16, 2021,  2PM - 6 PM.
