Edward Ellis Woodson

Please keep the family and friends of Edward Ellis Woodson in your hearts and prayers. Edward was 86 years of age, lived in East Liberty, and entered into rest September 25, 2022. He was born July 18, 1936. He was strong and hard on the outside but if you could get through the soft shell you were in for a blessing. Sweet, sensitive, caring, very generous, and loving but only a few had a chance to experience this side of him. We called him “Teddy”, he was a master barber, self-taught master builder who rebuilt his home from the studs and loved to sit around and “chop it up”. He was the 7th child born to Gertrude Woodson “momma”. He was born and raised in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh and migrated to Hartford CT by way of North Side where he married Rose Woodson and had 4 children David, Kirt, Mark, and Timmie. He also fathered Zachary Bridges and baby girl Rachel Wimbush. He is also survived by his sister Mary Frances Woodson, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.  He will truly be missed. Family members gathered for a Celebration of his Life and interment was held at the Smithfield Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Vereb Funeral Home, 5106 Second Avenue, 15207, 412-521-8116.
